Promote the field of chemistry from biomass, encouraging the collaboration between companies and research institutions and sensitizing the public institutions. These are the objectives of SPRING (Sustainable Processes and Resources for Innovation and National Growth), one of the Cluster Technology promoted by the Ministry of Education, Ministry if University and Ministry of Research under the Framework Programme for Research of the European Horizon 2020.
This cluster, just officially unveiled, is dedicated in particular to the chemical from biomass, a sector in which Italy has a leading role in the world. Incorporated as a nonprofit association, SPRING was founded by companies like Biochemtex Novamont and Versalis, as well as Federchimica.
